| TC2 Academy TCSL Summer School on Open Source and Web Technology เป็นผู้ร่วมจัดเตรียมงาน IEEE DEST 2008 (http://www.ieee-dest.curtin.edu.au/2008/index.php) ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2551 ซึ่งเป็นถึงเวลาที่สมควรในการรวมตัวของกลุ่มนักวิทยาศาสตร์ นักวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และผู้เชี่ยวชาญในด้านต่าง ๆ ผู้มีความสนใจในการปฏิบัติงานและการค้นคว้าเกี่ยวกับ Open Source และ Web Technology กิจกรรมนี้จัดขึ้นเพื่อแนะนำแนวทาง ขอบเขต และความสำคัญ ของความแตกต่างในหลักการด้านต่างๆ และเพื่อนักเรียนที่มีความรู้และข้อมูลในเรื่อง Open Source และ Web Technology โครงการ summer school จดขึ้นโดยการร่วมมือกันระหว่าง Thai Computer Science Linkage (TCSL) และ Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence Institute (DEBII) Curtin University และ กลุ่มนักศึกษาวิทยาศาสตร์คอมพิวเตอร์จากมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนจากประเทศไทยผู้ซึ่งเป็นแม่แบบแต่เดิมในการเชื่อมต่อในปี 2000 Monash University ตามด้วย the Thai-Australia Science and Engineering Assistance Project, 1998-2001.

| * Trust & Security ระบบรักษาความปลอดภัย (Prof Tharam Dillon) Professor Dillon is a Fellow of the IEEE, ACS and IE(aust). He is Chairman of the Technical Committee of IEEE IES on Industrial Informatics, and ADCOM member for IEEE IES. He is also Chair of IFIP working Group in Web Semantics. His current research interests include Web semantics, ontologies, Internet computing, e-commerce, hy-brid neurosymbolic systems, neural nets, software engineering, database systems, and data mining. He has more than 650 papers published in international conferences and journals and is the author of five books and has another 5 edited books. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computer Systems Science and Engineering as well as the Engineering Intelligent Systems. He is the Co-Editor of the Journal of Electric Power and Energy Systems. |

Open Source Software โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป Open Source (Prof Ernesto Damiani) Ernesto Damiani is a professor at the Department of Information Technology of the University of Milan. He has held visiting positions at several international institutions, including George Mason University, VA (USA), La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. Prof. Damiani coordinates several research projects on business process innovation funded by the Italian Ministry of Research, the European Commission and leads research funded by a number of private companies including Cisco, ST Microelectronics, Siemens Mobile and BT Exact. His research interests include knowledge extraction and metadata design, secure mobile architectures, software engineering and soft computing. On these topics he has filed international patents and published more than 100 refereed technical papers in international journals and conferences. He is the Vice-Chair of the IFIP WG on Web Semantics (WG 2.12) and the secretary of the IFIP WG on Open Source Systems (WG 2.13). He is the author, together with B. Grosky and R. Khosla, of the book Human-Centered e-Business (Kluwer 2003). In 2000, he was the recipient of ACM SIGAPP Outstanding Service Award. |

Ontologies for Web Information Systems and Applications รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสำหรับการพัฒนาเว็บระบบสารสนเทศและเว็บแอพพลิเคชั่น (Prof Robert Meersman) Robert Meersman VUB STARLab Brussels, Belgium http://starlab.vub.ac.be Robert A. Meersman is full professor in the Department of Computer Science of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel where he leads the laboratory of Semantics Technology and Applications Research (VUB STARLab) since 1995. From 1986 until 1995 he was full professor at the KUB (Department BIK) in Tilburg, The Netherlands. He teaches database and information system courses, both introductory and advanced and he has been invited speaker and lecturer at international conferences, universities and institutes worldwide. VUB STARLab runs several sizeable European and national scientific projects (OntoBasis, FF Poirot, DIP, Co-Drive, PROLIX, ) and has participated and participates in a number of 5th and 6th Framework EU Networks (OntoWeb, CCFORM, InnovaNet, KnowledgeWeb). Professor Meersman has been Chairman of IFIP WG 2.6, the Working Group on Database and first Chairman of IFIP TC12, the Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence. In June 2003 he was elected Chairman of IFIP TC2 (Software Theory and Practice). He is a recipient of the IFIP Silver Core Award. Within IFIP WG 2.6 he created the Database Semantics international conference series. He is co-founder and former President of the non-profit International Foundation for Cooperative Information Systems (IFCIS) which organized the yearly CoopIS conference, now part of the large OnTheMove2006 Federated Conferences, last in Montpellier, France, November 2006. He is also the President and co-founder of the Distributed Objects Applications Institute v.z.w., another not-for-profit scientific organization. He has been General Chair, Program Committee Chair, Tutorial Chair and PC member of numerous international congresses, conferences, and workshops, and provided consultations to many large companies and organizations worldwide on technical subjects related to databases, the deployment of large information systems, methodologies, and IT tools. Robert Meersman's current research interests focus on implementing database- and Web-semantics using so-called ontologies, and several STARLab (www.starlab.vub.ac.be) projects funded by EC 5thFP, 6thFP as well as from other sources are under way on this subject. He is the author and co-author of numerous publications in the areas of conceptual modeling, information systems methodologies (in particular NIAM of which he was one of the original researchers) and the formal and empirical semantics of information stored in databases, and of course with recent applications in e-learning, and the unlocking of e-content in general. |

Business Intelligence (ความสามารถในการหยั่งถึงทางธุรกิจ) (Prof Elizabeth Chang) Elizabeth Chang is a research professor and director of Curtin's tier 1 research institute Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence (DEBII). She has been awarded the Vice Chancellor's Outstanding Performance Award for 2005, and the Dean's Best Researcher of Year Award for 2004. She has co-authored 3 books and has published over 200 scientific papers as book chapters, international journals and at refereed conferences as well as numerous invited Keynote papers and Tutorials. Since 1997, as chief investigator, she has been awarded over $1.5 million cash from ARC and over $2 million cash from industry and local government. All her research and development work has been in the areas of IT Applications and Software Engineering. She is currently supervising and co-supervising 12 PhD students. Her recent PhD student Dr Rahayu has achieved Best Thesis Award in 2001 by Australian Computer Science Society and her current PhD students have achieved over 10 best papers and best presentation award in international repute conferences in 2004 and 2005. As Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer/Lecturer at the Curtin, Newcastle, La Trobe and Swinburne Universities in Australia. She also developed a course for the Hong Kong Cyber University, the theme of which is Web Advertising and Publishing delivered online through the Internet. Professor Chang has extensive industrial background includes being Head of IT for Seapower Resources International, incorporating 40 warehouses, a multi-national logistics company operator in China where she successfully delivered a large scale e-Warehouse and e-Logistics within strict time and budget limitations during 2001. She has also been a contract Project Manager, Senior Software Engineer for Philips Public Communication Limited on the CableTV and Modem projects, Animal Research Institute assisting to develop the Sheep Farm Software Package, Australian Airlines in an Exchange and Interest Rate monitor system. |
