:: History ::

Naresuan University was established as a separate university on July 29, 1990, which was the 400th anniversary of the start of the reign of Phitsanulok-born King Naresuan the Great. A courtyard with a statue of King Naresuan is located on the grounds and the students regularly pay their respects before it.  Naresuan University originates from the former College of Education, Phitsanulok, which was established in - -1967. Later the College of Education was attached to Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, and changed its name to Srinakharinwirot University, Phitsanulok. On July 29, 1990 it gained its present name to honor King Naresuan the Great (r. 1590-1605) who was born in Phitsanulok.
-1987 the Faculty of Science started the education in Science Major with Computer Science.
