Abstract

In the present work, a method for determining cadmium (Cd) in water samples was developed by solidified floating organic drop microextraction (SFODME) with 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) as a chelating reagent and detected by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). Under the optimized conditions, the calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.1 ??? 5.0 ??g/L with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.053 ??g/L. The relative standard deviation (%RSD) for 6 replicate measurements (1.0 ??g/L) was ??2.67%. The proposed method was applied to tap water and drinking water samples. The accuracy of the proposed method as percentage recovery gave satisfactorily results.
