Abstract

The purpose of this research decided to conduct a study on producing insulation materials mixing gypsum with different ratios of oyster shells, and to establish the relation of physical properties of the resulting insulation sheets with different ratios of oyster shells, and also to predict the physical properties of the resulting insulation sheets made from other ratios of oyster shells which were not included in the experiment and also add value to the oyster shells and to benefit energy conservation and environmental protection. The conclusion is that gypsum with added ratios of 10%, 20%, and 30% of oyster shells was found to be the most suitable for making insulation objects to replace those made from only gypsum because of their low heat conduction, abundance of waste materials, and their light weight and these equations on the correlation between heat conduction, compression strength and density of insulation with an added ratio of shells is also applicable to the insulation with increasing ratios of 0 - 30%.
